Community Cleanup events provide an opportunity for people to dispose of items that do not fit in their waste and recycling carts, and to support those who do not have access to cart service.

In 2025, neighborhoods across the city will host events during the following seasonal time frames:

• Spring: April 26/27 to June 28/29

• Summer: July 5/6 to August 30/31

• Fall: September 6/7 to September 27/28

Events are managed and run by community volunteers with the support of The City of Calgary. Events take place on Saturdays or Sundays, and most events are held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Due to capacity, organizers may impose cut-offs to lines prior to the event end time. For example, an organizer may cap the line at 1 p.m. so queued vehicles may dispose of waste prior to the 2 p.m. event closing time. In this instance, some residents waiting in line would be turned away at the discretion of organizers. Aggressive behavior or abuse of volunteers/organizers will not be tolerated.

New this year: Some cleanup events will be accepting used children’s sporting equipment donations through the Calgary Flames Sports Bank. Please check if donations are being accepted at your community event through the event organizer.
